Capitals and gates. Never to be uttered in the same sentence unless its an ALOD.

If you continue with this course of action it's no wonder why so many CCP employees are jumping ship so to speak for other game companies. I predict Monoclegate and all the other issues brought about by Incarna. Will pale in comparison to the outrage this is going to generate. Monoclegate was an issue for a majority of eve players, this is an issue for people with carrier alts. Keep the tears coming tho
Most of nullsec either has a carrier alt or uses carriers to get stuff around if they don't have a JF. So yes, it does affect a large number of people. |

Any alliance that wishes to have sov has to get past those powerhouses hugging high sec? definitely a concern. Take WH's behind them. Make them jump to deal with your moderately sized fleet. Then attack the staging system while they are stranded with timers. After these changes they can't be everywhere at once. Make them choose what to hold, take what they won't or can't defend. XDXDXD I love how people seem to think this is going to change the map in any way. Flipping Sov takes time derpderp. It doesn't matter where you attack they'll have days to prepare to defend it. Blob Online is still Blob Online.
It won't. All it will change is the number of subbed capital and cyno alts. I'd be genuinely surprised if they haven't run this by the CSM.

At 127 pages this kicks in let see how many they remove from this threadnought still at -3 accounts if this hold true I would make a guess Ive seen somewhere in the 100 range of accounts being canceled. I would love to see the faces on there financial department come tomorrow morning.
People will slowly unsubscribe capital alts. Dreads after this will be horrible to use. I hope everyone will enjoy structural grinds in subcaps, especially those guys who decide to move to null the first time and have to spends hundreds of man hours removing structures without dreads. |

So the summary so far:
Highsec scrubs who've never been to nullsec and never will: "This is amazing, even though I don't understand what is happening, I'm just saying it because it's annoying the people in nullsec. I'm never going to move there myself anyway but that isn't the point"
Nullsec people: "Wait, what? So the future vision is gate camps online? Do you even play your game CCP?"
CSM: "We're really ******* important, even though practically no one gives a **** about us any more and we've not done our jobs. But we're still really important and we'll keep telling you this. We've not done anything important for a very long time but we're very important".
CCP: "Go away, we're busy writing applications to join Riot Games. We've left the dregs to sort out something which is above their pay grade.tia".

Good luck moving your stuff out there. Unless you plan to take a JF or Carrier through a gate.

I don't think I live in High sec. Unless they changed something while I was sleeping.
Didn't they tell you? All of Low Sec is being made into highsec. CSM Leak. |

Valleria Darkmoon wrote: I'm very much afraid that if these changes go through as presented here the game will stagnate because it will be too slow. .
This. Some people like the larger scale battles, in fact the only times EVE has hit the headlines and brought in more subcribers than CCP's marketing department ever has is the big fights. With these changes, these sorts of battles will likely never happen again. Those with local supercap dominance will always have a trump card and no one will be able to escalate.
It begs the question of why can't CCP see what the real problem here is: Supercaps and not Carriers, Dreads, JF's or anything else with a jump drive.

Only SC are a prob? cause the other blob has more?
No, I exhale experience in living in nullsec, owning capitals and generally being fairly active there. These are things you don't have so you're unlikely to do anything but grrr goon.
If you can't see the immediate problem, you probably shouldn't be commenting in a thread like this. |

QFT, let small gang pvp live again.
Small gangs of carriers. On gates, being remote sebo'ed. Safe in the knowledge that they won't get hot dropped. Waiting for high sec scrubs to come through because they think that this change will make things better. I can't wait. This will be the age of the Carrier gate camp and blap dread local defense fleet. |

This will be the age of the Carrier gate camp and blap dread local defense fleet. Small gangs of carriers? Gate-camping with intel channels, awesome idea. Yes you're fine, there won't certainly be a group of guys who'd want and be able to drop on your butts with a few dreads or supers. It's not impossible to drop on guys, just needs more planning and organization. We're in the age of "don't undock unless you got supers on standby to counterdrop" - I rather see caps used as often as BS and die more often than continue playing boring online. Please just biomass your character, it'll be fun to see you guys around here in a few weeks after your supposedly "unsubbing". There's a lot of potential fun here to be had, so why not try and discuss with devs on a more "sensible" basis about tweaking the weaknesses of it?
Read the changes. They support local defense. Hotdropping starting from a base 20LY away would be suicide for any supercap fleet - as they try to get back via gates. Yes, you will see more capitals, allot more capitals now. Enjoy. |

Anthar Thebess wrote: Remember that most of those players where playing different games while waiting for pings.
This is fairly normal when you reach a certain state in EVE. If CCP promote a style of game play which consumes a vast amount of time to do anything yet you're not actually required to do very much during that time, it's hardly a surprise.
Some of these changes are good, some are completely daft and some further promote this sort of timer based game play which means players go AFK while they wait for an alarm clock. It's not an elegant solution.

You misunderstand, this isn't capital pilots, it's most people who live in null or who fight in and around it and sov. People won't roam if they know that in 3 hours they have to react to a timer. This isn't the players fault, it's the nature of fighting over sov. This you can't pin on the blocs, this is the mechanics of the sandbox.

Let me guess, VFK by December? Good luck getting to it, with sebo'd carrier gate camps and nanodread fleets all safe in the knowledge they're unlikely to be dropped on. |
